SNOOC in Tignes
It's brand new !
Since the 2022-2023 season, you can do a nice SNOOC descent at Tignes 1550-les Brévières, by going up to Les Boisses to get your equipment and then going back down along the Brévières gondola, on the Myrtilles piste at the end of the day. Butonly accompanied by a ski instructor..
It's a fun way to enjoy a nice vertical drop on a beautiful green trail, normally used by skiers, where novices and SNOOC sledding enthusiasts can test their skills with some nice turns in the snow.
Otherwise, it's in Tignes 1800 - Les Boisses, that this non-skiing activity takes place! You can use the two carpets on the snow front of this resort from 5pm to 8pm every day.
But what is SNOOC ?
The SNOOC allows you to ski sitting down.
It is a kind of single-skate sled - just like the paret, a wooden sled with only one runner and a wooden board to sit on.
Indeed, one slides in a sitting position, a few centimeters from the ground, stabilizing the trajectory thanks to the feet placed flat on the snow on both sides of the ski.
The ski is a real ski, which allows you to feel the sensations and emotions of turns, carving and speed.
This ski sled is a great hybrid machine that allows you to enjoy a new sliding activity in complete safety and easily accessible to all.
Indeed, you don't need to be a skier to do SNOOC. And you don't need any special equipment: soft shoes and a good dose of good humor are all you need !
You quickly get the hang of the SNOOC, and you can easily understand how to accompany the turns by a simple rotation of the shoulders.
Family, friends, and even grandparents can enjoy the excitement and joy of this safe sliding activity.

Some information about the resort of Tignes
Tignes is a ski resort located in the department of Savoie, in the Northern Alps in France.
Its ski area extends over 300km of slopes and links Tignes to Val d'Isère.
Its altitude of 2100m at the level of the departure of most of the ski lifts guarantees a quality snow cover throughout the winter season.
The districts of Tignes le Lac and Tignes Val Claret are located at this altitude on both sides of a lake that is frozen in winter and that is often crossed on foot.
However, there are also other areas connected to the ski area of Tignes.
They are Tignes les Boisses, at 1800m altitude, and Tignes les Brévières, at 1550m in a more wooded environment.
In Tignes you can discover the atmosphere of the high mountains, with slopes that reach and sometimes exceed 3000m of altitude, and the snow cover at the resort makes the stay particularly exotic.
All of Tignes' neighborhoods offer a variety of winter activities in addition to skiing: snowshoeing, sledding, cross-country skiing, dog sledding, ice diving, mountain biking on snow and of course you can practice SNOOC in Tignes !
